Getting started

A quick tour of the Duetoday dashboard

Last updated · 2 min read

Short answer

The dashboard is your home screen. Type a question or topic into the Galileo box to start a study session, pick a mode such as Research, Flashcards, Quiz, Draft or Voice Tutor, or add your own material with Record, Upload, Paste or Link. The sidebar on the left takes you to your History, Galileo, folders and settings.

Before you start

  • Plan needed: you can open the dashboard and make one upload as a free preview. Most other actions open the free trial screen until you start the trial.

The parts of the dashboard

The Galileo prompt box

The big box at the top says “Explain this chapter, make flashcards, or help me research a topic”. Type anything and press Enter. Duetoday opens a new Galileo session with your request.

Below the box you can choose a mode before you send:

ModeWhat it does
ResearchGalileo searches the web and answers with sources. See research mode.
FlashcardsTurns the topic or notes you describe into flashcards.
QuizTurns the topic you describe into a practice quiz.
DraftWrites an essay, report, literature review or outline for you to edit. See templates and documents.
Voice TutorStarts a spoken tutoring session. See voice tutor.

Sample prompts shows ready-made ideas if you are not sure what to ask.

Upload Your Own Material

Four buttons add your own study material. Each one opens a new Galileo session:

Language

The Language button in the top-right corner changes the app language and the language Galileo writes in. See change your language.

The sidebar

The sidebar on the left holds:

  • New to go back to the dashboard and start something new.
  • Home for the dashboard.
  • History for every Galileo session, file and generated item.
  • Galileo to open a blank Galileo session.
  • Folders to organise your notes. See notes and folders.
  • Your profile menu for settings, your plan, language and signing out.
  • Help to chat with the Duetoday team.

Tips

  • Press Enter to send, Shift+Enter for a new line in the prompt box.
  • Use the microphone button in the prompt box to dictate your question instead of typing (Chrome and Edge support this best).
  • Collapse the sidebar for more space while you study.

If something goes wrong

  • “Please wait. App is still loading.” Give the page a few seconds after signing in, then try again.
  • “Dictation unavailable”. Your browser does not support speech dictation. Type instead, or use Chrome.
  • A trial screen opens when I click something. That feature needs the free trial. See what you can do before your trial.

Frequently asked questions

What is Galileo?

Galileo is Duetoday's AI tutor. Every upload, recording or question opens a Galileo session where you can chat about your material and generate study tools from it.

Where are my old sessions?

Choose History in the sidebar. It lists your Galileo sessions, your uploaded files and everything you generated, with search and filters.

Why does the dashboard look different on my phone?

On small screens Duetoday shows a simpler mobile layout with your notes and a New button. The same features are there, arranged for a narrow screen.
