Change the app and AI language in Duetoday

Last updated · 1 min read

Short answer

Choose Language on the dashboard (or Change Language in the sidebar or your profile menu). Pick an App Language for buttons and menus, and an AI Output Language for summaries, flashcards, quizzes and Galileo's answers, then choose Save. The picker lists more than 45 languages.

Before you start

  • Plan needed: none. Anyone signed in can change the language.

Steps

  1. Open the language picker. On the dashboard, choose Language in the top-right corner. You can also choose Change Language in the sidebar or in your profile menu, or go to Settings and choose Change next to Language.
  2. Pick your App Language. This is the “Language for all buttons and menus”. Use Search languages… to find yours quickly.
  3. Pick your AI Output Language. This is the “Language for AI-generated content”, such as summaries, flashcards, quizzes and Galileo’s chat replies. Choose Same as app language to keep them the same.
  4. Choose Save. You’ll see “Language saved”. The app switches straight away.

Tips

  • Learning a language? Keep the App Language in your own language and set the AI Output Language to the one you’re learning, so your flashcards come out in that language.
  • Ask Galileo directly. You can also ask in chat, for example “Translate these flashcards into Spanish”.
  • The setting follows your account, so it applies when you sign in on another browser.

Limits

  • Some newer screens are only in English for now, even when another App Language is selected.
  • Speech features (live lecture recording and dictation) work best in English. Transcripts in other languages may be less accurate.

If something goes wrong

  • Some text is still in English. That screen hasn’t been translated yet. Galileo’s answers follow your AI Output Language regardless.
  • Galileo answers in the wrong language. Check the AI Output Language setting, then ask Galileo to answer in your language in the chat.

Frequently asked questions

Can the menus be in one language and my notes in another?

Yes. App Language controls buttons and menus. AI Output Language controls what Galileo writes. Leave AI Output Language as Same as app language to keep them matched.

Can I upload material in another language?

Yes. Galileo reads material in many languages. Set the AI Output Language to the language you want your notes and flashcards in.

Which languages are available?

More than 45, including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil), Italian, Dutch, Polish, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Bengali, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, Turkish, Vietnamese and many more.
