How team seats actually work

No surprises: here is exactly what a seat is, and what it isn't.

  • $12 per seat a month Billed monthly through Stripe. A new team starts with one seat, for you as the owner.
  • 5+ seats at a time Buy seats in packs of at least 5 from Team settings, and add more whenever the class grows.
  • Shared notes and Canvas boards A seat gives each member access to the team's shared notes and Canvas boards, based on their role.
  • Own plan for Pro features A seat doesn't include a Duetoday plan. Each member uses their own 7-day free trial or subscription.

Example: a teacher and 30 students. The owner's seat is included, so you buy 30 seats: 30 × $12 = $360 a month. Each student also needs their own Duetoday plan for Pro features.

Setting up

From sign-up to a shared class in four steps

  1. Create the team In Duetoday, open Settings, then Team, and choose Create your first team. Name it after your class.
  2. Buy seats Choose Add more, pick how many seats you need (5 or more) and pay through Stripe. They appear in a moment.
  3. Invite your class Choose Invite Member, enter each email and pick Member or Admin. Everyone gets an email with a link to join.
  4. Study together Share notes and Canvas boards with the team. Students use their own plan for uploads, Galileo, flashcards and quizzes.

Roles in a team

Owner
Creates the team, buys seats and manages everyone. Uses one seat.
Admin
Can manage members and settings: invite and remove members, buy seats.
Member
Can view and edit the team's shared notes and Canvas boards.
Viewer
Can look at shared content but not edit it.

Questions from schools

How much do team seats cost?

$12 per seat per month, billed monthly. You buy at least 5 seats at a time. A new team starts with one seat for the owner, so a teacher plus 30 students needs 30 more seats: 30 × $12 = $360 a month.

Does a team seat include Duetoday Pro?

No. A seat lets someone join your team and use its shared notes and Canvas boards. To use Duetoday itself (uploads, Galileo, flashcards, quizzes and the rest), each member needs their own 7-day free trial or a Monthly or Yearly plan.

What does an individual plan cost?

Every account starts with a 7-day free trial (card required; cancel before it ends to pay nothing), then $99 a year (about $8.25 a month) or $15 a month. Until 31 December 2026, students can use code STUDENT50 for 50% off their first payment.

What can team members do?

Members can view and edit the team's shared notes and Canvas boards. Admins can also invite and remove members and buy seats. Viewers can look but not edit.

Can a whole school or district sign up?

Yes. Send the form on this page with roughly how many students and staff you have, and we'll reply by email to help you set it up. You can also email hello@duetoday.ai.

Is student data private?

Uploaded content is private by default and isn't used to train AI models. Shared team notes and Canvas boards are visible to the members of that team.
