Galileo AI tutor

Talk through a topic with the voice tutor

Last updated · 1 min read

Short answer

Choose Voice Tutor on the dashboard, or the Galileo head button next to the message box in a session, then choose Start voice tutor and allow your microphone. Talk to Galileo like a tutor; it answers out loud and shows a live transcript. Close the voice tutor when you're done and the transcript is saved to the session.

Before you start

  • A microphone and speakers or headphones. Headphones stop Galileo hearing itself.
  • A quiet place gives the most accurate results.
  • Plan needed: the 7-day free trial or a subscription.

Steps

  1. Open the voice tutor.
    • From the dashboard: choose Voice Tutor under the prompt box.
    • From a Galileo session: choose the Galileo head button (“Open voice tutor”) next to the message box.
  2. Choose Start voice tutor. Allow the microphone when your browser asks. The panel shows “Ready when you are”.
  3. Talk. Ask a question out loud, such as “Can you explain how supply and demand set a price?” Galileo answers out loud and the transcript updates live.
  4. Pause your mic with Stop listening, and turn it back on with Start listening.
  5. Finish. Choose Close voice tutor. You’ll see “Saving transcript…” and the conversation is added to the session.

Tips

  • Explain it back. Say “Let me explain it and you tell me what I got wrong.” It’s one of the best ways to learn.
  • Ask for a spoken quiz before an oral exam or presentation.
  • Keep answers short by saying “Answer in two sentences”.

If something goes wrong

  • “Could not start voice tutor. Please check microphone permissions and try again.” Click the lock or microphone icon in your address bar, allow the microphone for duetoday.ai, and reload.
  • Galileo keeps interrupting itself. It’s hearing its own voice. Use headphones or lower the volume.
  • “Voice tutor error”. Close the voice tutor and open it again. If it keeps happening, try Chrome or Edge.

Frequently asked questions

Does the voice tutor know about my upload?

Yes. If you open it inside a session with a source, Galileo uses that source as context for the conversation.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes, in a mobile browser that allows microphone access. Headphones help avoid echo.

Is the conversation saved?

Yes. When you close the voice tutor, Galileo saves the transcript into the session so you can reread it.
