Before you start
- A laptop or desktop. The New Note button is hidden on small screens.
- A microphone if you want to dictate.
- Plan needed: the 7-day free trial or a subscription.
Steps
- Open a Galileo session.
- Choose New Note (“Open a session note”) next to the message box. You’ll see “Opening note…” and a note opens next to the chat.
- Add a title where it says “New Note”.
- Write. Type in the body. Type / to add headings, lists, tables and other blocks.
- Dictate (optional). Choose Voice note and allow the microphone. “Final transcript lines are being added directly to your note as you speak.” Choose Stop to finish.
- Copy it with Copy note if you want to paste it somewhere else.
- Close it with the close button. It’s saved to your account.
Tips
- Write the question you’re stuck on in your note, then ask Galileo and paste the best answer underneath.
- Use the note as a running summary while you watch a lecture video in the YouTube tab.
- Dictation is quickest in a quiet room with a headset microphone.
If something goes wrong
- “Dictation already active. Stop the other live dictation session before starting a voice note here.” A recording or voice note is running somewhere else in Duetoday. Stop it first.
- “Dictation stopped. Please check microphone permission and try again.” Allow the microphone for duetoday.ai in your browser’s site settings.
- “Copy failed”. Your browser blocked clipboard access. Select the text and copy it with Ctrl+C (Cmd+C on a Mac).
