Steps: use a teacher tool

  1. Choose Teach Mode in the sidebar. The Teaching Studio opens on Teacher Tools.
  2. Find a tool. Use Search all tools or a category, for example Lesson Plan, Rubric Generator, Report Card Comments, Worksheet Generator, Jeopardy Review Game, Parent Email or IEP Generator.
  3. Fill in the form. Add grade level, subject, topic and anything else it asks. You can paste text, add a link or upload a file as source material.
  4. Generate. Duetoday writes the resource in a session you can keep refining by chat.
  5. Find it later in Output History.

Steps: make your own tool

  1. Choose Create Custom Tools (or Create Custom Tool →).
  2. Start from a built-in tool and add your own instructions, default values and knowledge files.
  3. Save it. It appears with your tools, ready to reuse.

Tips

  • Give context. “Year 9, mixed ability, 50-minute lesson, two students with dyslexia” gives far better plans than “photosynthesis lesson”.
  • Build once, reuse often with custom tools for things you write every week, such as newsletters.
  • Check everything before it goes to students or parents. AI can make mistakes.

If something goes wrong

  • “Built for a bigger screen”. Open the page on a laptop or desktop.
  • A tool returns something generic. Add more detail to the form, or attach your own material.
  • Can’t find a past resource. Look in Output History and use Search sessions….

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the teacher tools on a tablet or phone?

They need a laptop or desktop. On small screens you'll see 'Built for a bigger screen'.

Can I edit what Duetoday writes?

Yes. Ask for changes in the chat ('make it 45 minutes', 'add differentiation for EAL students'), or copy the result into your own documents.

Is there a separate teacher plan?

No. Teacher tools are included in the same Duetoday plan as everything else. For a whole school, email hello@duetoday.ai.
