Set up rooms and student tools for your class

Last updated · 1 min read

Short answer

In Teach Mode, open Student Mode and choose Student Tools. Under Discover, pick a tool such as AI Tutor, AI Flashcards or AI Quiz Generator and set it up; it appears under Your Tools. Then choose Rooms, Create Study Room, and add your tools with Add Tool To Room. Copy the room link and send it to your students.

Before you start

  • A laptop or desktop.
  • Plan needed: the 7-day free trial or a subscription.

Steps: create a student tool

  1. Open Teach Mode, then Student Mode and Student Tools.
  2. Browse Discover. Categories include Chatbots, Study Tools, Writing & Feedback, Research & Study and Creative & Fun. Or use Search tools….
  3. Choose a tool such as AI Tutor, AI Flashcards, AI Quiz Generator, Writing Feedback, Language Tutor or Debate Partner.
  4. Set it up with your topic, instructions and any material, then save. It appears under Your Tools, where you can Edit it or choose Share to room.

Steps: create a room and share it

  1. Choose Rooms in Student Mode.
  2. Choose Create Study Room. Name it (“Name your room”), add a description, choose Visibility (Share with code or Public) and create it.
  3. Add tools. Choose Add Tool To Room and pick from your tools.
  4. Share it. Copy the room link (“Room link copied. Send this link to your students.”) and post it in your class channel or learning platform.
  5. Manage rooms later: search, sort and filter by Active, Draft or Archived, or delete a room you no longer need.

Tips

  • One room per class or unit keeps things tidy for students.
  • Use AI Quiz Generator tools to publish quizzes students can take in the room. They show under Quizzes.
  • Test every tool yourself in student view before sharing.

If something goes wrong

  • “Enter a room name”. Give the room a name before creating it.
  • “Could not create room” or “Could not update room”. Reload the page and try again.
  • “No tools yet”. Create a tool from Discover first, then add it to the room.
