Before you start
- Plan needed: the 7-day free trial or a subscription.
- Think before you share. Anyone with a public link can view it. Don’t share personal information or other people’s content without permission.
Steps: share a note
- Open the note on a laptop or desktop.
- Choose Share at the top. You’ll see “Note is now public. Anyone with the link can view it.”
- Choose the copy button next to Share (“Copy share link”). The link is copied.
- Send the link in a message or email.
- To stop sharing, choose Share again. You’ll see “Note is now private”.
Steps: share a quiz
- Open the quiz’s Share Quiz option.
- If asked, publish the quiz first (“Publish your quiz to generate shareable links and QR codes”).
- Choose Copy Link, or show the QR Code so people can scan it. Choose Download PNG to save the QR code.
Steps: share a Canvas board
- Open the board and its menu.
- Choose Share to Explore. Add a Subject, a Description and Tags, then share. You’ll see “Canvas shared! Link copied.”
- The board appears in Explore, and the copied link opens a public, view-only version.
Steps: embed an AI tutor on a website
- On a Canvas board, open the menu and choose Embed AI Tutor.
- Set the Title, Accent Color, Launcher Icon (square image, max 2MB), Welcome Message and Position.
- Copy the Widget Script and paste it into your website’s HTML. Visitors can chat with a tutor that knows your board’s materials.
Tips
- Export instead of sharing when you only need to send a copy: use Export as PDF on a note, or Export PDF on a Galileo session.
- Teachers can share live quizzes with a join code. See live quizzes.
If something goes wrong
- The copy button doesn’t appear. The note is still private. Choose Share first.
- “Failed to share”. Reload the page and try again.
- Someone sees “not found”. You may have made the item private again, or deleted it.
