Galileo and Canvas

How to use the Canvas workspace in Duetoday

Duetoday Help Centre · Updated

Short answer

Open Canvas from the sidebar and choose New Canvas. Upload your study materials, arrange them on the board, then ask AI anything about your canvas to get answers that draw on all of it at once.

Steps

  1. Open Canvas from the sidebar.
  2. Choose New Canvas and give it a name, such as the module or exam it is for.
  3. Upload study materials to the board: lecture recordings, documents, slides or links.
  4. Arrange the board. Group related items so the layout reflects how the topic fits together.
  5. Ask AI anything about your canvas. Questions draw on all the materials on the board.
  6. Keep building the board as the module goes on, so it becomes your revision hub before the exam.

Tips

  • Mix source types. A lecture recording, the slides and a YouTube explainer on the same board give you three angles on one topic.
  • Ask comparison questions. “Where do the lecture and the textbook disagree?” is the kind of question Canvas makes easy.
  • Rename boards as the term moves on so the active ones are always easy to find.

Frequently asked questions

What is Canvas for?

Canvas puts all your study materials for a topic on one visual board, so you can see them together and ask questions across them, rather than one note at a time.

How is Canvas different from a folder?

A folder stores notes. A Canvas lays them out visually and lets you ask AI questions that draw on everything on the board.

How many Canvas boards should I make?

One per module or exam works well for most students. A board that tries to hold every subject becomes hard to read.
