Delete a single file, study set or session

Last updated · 2 min read

Short answer

On the website, open the Galileo session, choose the paperclip (Artifacts), then the bin next to the file or study item, and confirm with Delete. To delete the whole session, use the bin in the session's top-right corner. In the app, open the source from Home: the ••• menu has Delete source and Delete session, and the Galileo panel has a bin next to each flashcard set, quiz, mind map or podcast. Deleting is permanent and doesn't touch your account or subscription.

Before you start

  • Deleting is permanent. Export anything you want to keep first: Export PDF or Export DOCX in a Galileo session, or Export as PDF on a note.
  • Shared links stop working for anything you delete.

On the website

Delete one file or study item

This works for uploads, lecture recordings, YouTube videos, flashcard sets, quizzes, mind maps, podcasts, study guides and Galileo notes.

  1. Open the Galileo session that contains it.
  2. Choose the paperclip (Artifacts) in the top-right corner.
  3. Point at the item and choose the bin next to it. On a phone or tablet, the bin is always showing.
  4. Read the message and choose Delete.

A file or recording goes with its transcript. Anything already made from it stays in the session.

Delete a whole session

  1. Open the session.
  2. Choose the bin (Delete session) in the top-right corner.
  3. Choose Delete session to confirm. The chat, its files, transcripts, study items and notes are deleted.

  3. Confirm to delete it.

If something goes wrong

  • “Delete failed”. Check your connection and try again. If it keeps failing, email hello@duetoday.ai.
  • I don’t see a bin next to an item. A lecture you’re still recording can’t be deleted until you’ve saved or discarded it.
  • I want to delete everything. See delete your account.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get something back after deleting it?

No. There's no bin or undo, so export anything you want to keep first.

If I delete a file, are the flashcards and quizzes made from it deleted too?

No. Deleting a file or recording removes the file and its transcript. Anything you already made from it stays in the session until you delete it, or delete the whole session.

Does deleting things change my subscription?

No. Your account, plan and everything else stay as they are. To delete your account and all your data, see delete your account.

If I delete my free preview upload, can I upload another one?

No. The free preview covers one upload, even after you delete it. Start the free trial to add more.

Can I delete a folder?

Not at the moment. Folders don't take up space, and an empty folder does no harm.
