Use Duetoday on your phone, tablet and computer

Last updated · 2 min read

Short answer

Duetoday works in any modern browser at www.duetoday.ai, including on phones, with a layout made for small screens. The Duetoday mobile app adds things like photo problem solving, dictation, study reminders, notifications when a note is ready and a streak widget. Your account, notes and plan are the same everywhere you sign in.

Before you start

  • A Duetoday account. Sign in with the same method on every device.
  • Plan needed: the same as on the web: one free preview upload, then the 7-day free trial or a subscription.

Use Duetoday in your phone’s browser

  1. Open www.duetoday.ai in Safari, Chrome or another browser and sign in.
  2. Your notes and folders show as a list. Tap New to add material.
  3. Tap a note or session to open it with its study tools.
  4. Tip: use your browser’s Add to Home Screen option to open Duetoday like an app.

The Duetoday mobile app

If you have the Duetoday app on iPhone or Android, sign in with your Duetoday account (Sign in with Apple is available on iPhone). The app includes:

  • Home: “What are we studying today?” with your recent sources.
  • Create (+):
    • Solve your problem: take or choose a photo of a problem for step-by-step help, or type it.
    • Check your solution: get feedback on your working.
    • Dictation: record your voice into notes.
    • Transcribe: upload an audio file.
    • Upload PDF, URL, YouTube and Research.
  • Notes, Flashcards, Courses, Chat and Calendar.
  • Streak: your streak, daily goal, XP and coins, plus the Study Streak widget.
  • Settings: General information (name, email, password), Reminders, Invite friends, and help.

Steps: set study reminders in the app

  1. Open Settings, then Reminders.
  2. Choose Add reminder and pick the days and time.
  3. Allow notifications when asked. You’ll get “Time to study!” at that time, and a “Note ready” notification when a note finishes processing.

The desktop app

If you use the Duetoday desktop app, it opens the same Duetoday account in its own window and adds a quick launcher: press Ctrl+Shift+Space (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+Space (Mac) for Transcribe Lecture, Upload PDF / File, Paste Website, Open Canvas and your recent notes. The tray icon has Open Launcher, Open Duetoday and Quit.

If something goes wrong

  • The app says I have no plan, but I subscribed on the website. Sign in with the same account you used on the website. Billing for website subscriptions is managed at www.duetoday.ai, under Settings, Subscription.
  • No notifications. Allow notifications for Duetoday in your phone’s settings.
  • Microphone doesn’t work. Allow microphone access for Duetoday in your phone’s settings.

I subscribed in the iPhone or Android app. How do I cancel?

Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are managed there: on iPhone open Settings, your name, Subscriptions; on Android open Google Play, Payments and subscriptions.

Do teacher tools work on a phone?

The teacher suite needs a laptop or desktop. On a small screen it shows 'Built for a bigger screen'.
